Met up with some of my really close friends today to answer some questions they've had relating to Steemit since they joined. We had pizzas for lunch before some chat about Steemit.

Basically wanted to share with them about 3 things today - Blockchain, Author & Curation Rewards,  :

<h1>1 - Blockchain</h1>

Shared about what blockchain is in it's conception and being decentralized and trustless. Only covered legacy blockchain, Bitcoin, and Steem's blockchain. Not in detail as I myself am still studying and learning on the many many many layers of blockchain tech in general and particularly Steem's Blockchain. 

Talked a little on the founders of the Steem blockchain as well and about investing in people and not ideas.  

<h1>2 - Author and Curation Rewards</h1>

Steem's marketcap, 75% author rewards, 25% curation rewards and how 50/50 split of payout works. 

I often give the illustration of a pie that everyone is sharing. That we all share a pie everyday and that pie doesn't get *bigger* but the price of it gets *higher*. Meaning we can get a smaller piece of pie compared to yesterday if there are more people authoring and curating or if more users start to join the platform but with more people, everyone gets a smaller piece of the pie but the smaller piece of the pie is more valuable than when you  had a slice of pie. 

I think this gives people an easier way to start grasping the value of cryptocurrency and STEEM in particular.

Recommended the various other platforms built on the STEEM blockchain like zappl, dmania, steepshot, dlive, dtube, dsound, utopian....... 



<h1>3 - STEEM, STEEM POWER & STEEM DOLLARS</h1>

Won't go into details on that but basically to me and how I explained it was.....

STEEM - Raw materials (e.g. wood, steel, bricks)
STEEM POWER - Built house from raw materials that can be disassembled back into STEEM (raw materials)
STEEM DOLLARS - USD of the Steemit world

Once when SBD was 16 USD a piece and STEEM was 2 USD a piece, for every 1 SBD you could get 8 STEEM. That's like would you like 10 bucks or 10 houses.... Thus why everyone at that point was exchanging their dough for houses. Now at today's price, 1 buck = 1 house... soon it'll be 30 bucks for 1 house..... GET YOUR HOUSES NOW!

More SP = Bigger house and more valuable house which you can rent out for a price or you can also rent from others (delegation and leasing).

<h1>QUESTIONS!</h1>

Had some questions after I covered what I wanted to. Was asked about hashtags and how to use them. Directed them to various Steemians that do analysis and data mining on this. Another thing that was asked was about bid bots and instant upvote bots.

<h1>The Faces behind the Usernames</h1>

@happycrazycon - She's got really good perspectives in life and writes pretty damn well on it as well. She's part of the #steemitbloggers community and writes on a daily basis sometimes more than 1 post a day. Oh she's also my dear wife 😃

@iamjadeline - My sister-in-law. She didn't get to make it today but posted her posts while we were at the "meeting". She's a homemaker and mother to a special needs kid who was born with a condition called CDH. You've gotta follow her posts on the challenges she faces on how she overcomes and wins in life on a daily basis. 

@michelleloh168 - Her blogs and posts focuses on her skills and in-born vocal talent in singing and playing piano. She's gotten quite a following in the local Steemit community. 

@scottjeromeyao - He was a former national vocals champion and has represented Malaysian in The Voice China. He's also a full-time singer residing in Penang. One of his [*earlier post*](https://steemit.com/dsound/@scottjeromeyao/not-your-usual-valentines-day) on Steemit got a rave payout.

Looking forward for more content from these 2 amazing vocalist and friends. 

@jazz-accountant @rayraymy @bethrao @littledrummerboy - These guys are still pretty new to the platform so lets give them big welcomes and support as they start their journey on Steemit.

Was a good first meetup with them and as well as sharing on having purpose driven blogging on Steemit. Very excited that my close friends all apparently listen to me and value my sharing. Almost all of them got into Steemit the minute I mentioned it to them. Some of them introduced another one to it.... 

The multiplication effect is real!
