Mankind had always wanted to fly and even before roadways became the prominent mode of transportation, we invented Aviation and Railways. The human kind has always looked up upon the birds in the sky and wanted to travel or at least experience the freedom that open air offered.

The Wright Brothers made the leap and the aviation industry has grown by leaps and bounds ever since. There was a time when being a Pilot for an aircraft was frowned upon and looked in the same way we look at people opting to work in Coal Mines and other dangerous professions.

This was because at the initial stages, safety was of a major concern and the materials used to manufacture these parts were usually substandard. The design and the internals of the aircraft were not designed from the ground up and were usually made of scrap metal or steel. While steel was quite durable, it is not as light and malleable as Aluminium, that we use today, is. This meant that there was quite the compromise made in the this department too, making flying the plan a difficult task.

Then came the world wars and the importance of having advanced aviation as it meant winning or losing the war. People started working more on advancing the Aviation industry, and there were dramatic changes brought about in the designing and manufacturing of aircrafts. Newer and lighter materials were developed and there came a really great streak of innovations made which made flying a lot safer and easier than before.

We started using computers and the computing prowess at first for making it much more better and for creating much better flight paths. There came about another wave of revolution made in this field, with the advancement of computers and communication devices, there came to be standards and basic infrastructures set up. There came a suite of rules, laws and regulations that must be followed.

Aviation became a lucrative business that connected the whole world and made travelling way easier than before. Imagine that you'd have to go by a ship for about three months to just to travel to another country that is just a few hundred miles from it. This just takes a few hours via air.

Global trade, commerce and information exchange flourished. The world, along with the Internet became a Global Village and made most of the places accessible to the humans.

But, even with such advanced techniques and technologies being used, the aviation industry has still a long way to go. Not a month goes by without us hearing of the disappearance or the crash of an Airplane, with no exact cause or detail or cause for the happenings. There has been a lot of malfunctioning reports in many aircraft and that is not totally the fault of manufacturing. It is also the fault of the owners of the aircrafts not replacing and changing old, rusted, malfunctioning parts on time. This can be either blamed as negligence on the owners part or unavailability of parts or being uneconomical for the owner.
