 The Italian stock exchange - Borsa Italiana - is part of the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) and is now working with IBM to develop an exchange platform based on HyperLedger Fabric Blockchain. HyperLedger Fabric was recently released by Hyperledger, an open-source group led by the Linux Foundation whose members also include IBM and LSEG. https://hyperledger-fabric.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ The blockchain exchange is intended to enable the digital issuance of shares of small and medium-sized enterprises. This will make it easier to keep track of shareholder information from unlisted companies. This would give young or small companies the opportunity to get faster and easier access to investment funds. In turn, investors would have the opportunity to make investments that would otherwise have been difficult to access. Of course the aspects of security, transparency and efficiency, as with so many blockchain projects, play an overriding role here. How the whole thing looks concretely and when a commercial rollout can be expected, can not be said yet.
