An Early Start

I had to run an errand this morning, knowing it wasn't going to take me too long I decided to put the drone in the back of the car.
Once the errand was completed, I headed up to a place called Hoober Stand, in Hoober, near Wentworth in Rotherham.
I was there for about 8:10am, and what a beautiful morning it was, no one was around, and all I could hear were birds singing, there was all sorts of birds there, from little finches, robins, treecreepers (I think), and birds I have no idea of their names, I'm not a twitcher, but I do love to see wildlife.

If you follow my blog, you will already know that I have got a new drone, and I'm trying my best to get out when I can as winter is approaching and I'm going to be quite limited on when I can fly the drone over the next few months.

I have to say, after seeing the quality of the shots today, I am more than pleased with this new drone, this is certainly the best camera I've had on a drone that I've owned, starting way back with the Phantom 3 Standard (yes, that camera wasn't very good at all!).

I just love the autumn colours, the sun was very bright this morning, I would have liked to have got there at least 30-45 minutes before I did, but due to the errand, this was the earliest I could make it, I would have also liked a few clouds in the, but as they saying goes, beggars can't be choosers, and as a photographer, you have to make the best of what you have got.

Hoober Stand used to be surrounded by trees from all angles, but for some reason a lot of the trees have been cut down, I do miss them, but it does make it a lot easier to get the drone up as there's fewer hazards.

I love the early autumn light shining through the woods, giving long shadows, and lovely warmth to it.

This is a shot I've had in mind for ages, the top of the monument overlooking Wentworth Woodhouse, the big object in the background, this is the largest stately home in Europe, as far as we are led to believe, if you look back through my blog, you will see some of my shots from the house.

After about 10 minutes, I saw some buzzards (I think they were) that flew near the drone, so I decided to bring her down and call it a day.
Overall it was a lovely flight and can't wait to get out again.

If you'd like to learn a bit about the monument:

I really hope you've enjoyed this blog and thanks for reading.

Have a great week.

All the best :-)
