 ##### <center>Some years before, it appears that a fire ripped through this area, judging by the stripped and burned trees. I’m guessing it was within the last ten years or so. This is some of the scenery from the hiking trail to Hourglass lake, East Kootenay, British Columbia. Although it is tragic to see this kind of devastation, it really is all a part of the ecosystem and its cycles. It is common to have lightning strikes out in forested areas like this. There is a certain unique beauty to all this, a beauty to the fire’s aftermath.
