# <center>***Steem Monster Snapshot - July 2018***</center>

### The "Monster Market" Arrived

This month we had a fantastic addition to the Steem Monster development, the "Monster Market".  It is a marketplace where people can both buy and sell their Steem Monster cards directly from their Steem Monster wallet at https://steemmonsters.com.  It is a **HUGE** success and is now spawning several new developments which will be iterations to make the functionality even better!  Both @blervin and @jarvie are working on projects to take the functionality even further!

The best thing about the Steem Monster's "Monster Market" is that it stabilizes the prices around the USD.  There has been much less fluctuation now that people are used to seeing the prices quoted in US Dollars, and while Steem and SBD may go up and down, the various monsters have had a very low variance from day to day.  

The reason why this is important is that it gives the potential buyers/players, along with the current Steem Monster holders, a better sense of the value of "their cards" and then lets the fluctuation of Steem/SBD do its own thing independently.  No longer are people worried by crypto fluctuations being embedded into the quotes, as you can see the values hold steady even in the face of some decent crypto swings lately.  This will really aid in the development of using the Steem Monsters for other avenues too, ie like an alternative to purchase steem in the future, so I really welcome this move and think it is very significant for sure!

### What's Hot

I have been asked to provide a little update each week by @littlescribe and @coruscate for their weekly show ["Fan Fiction"](https://dlive.io/@littlescribe), and in this week's show I was asked what's Hot right now!  Without giving away too much, let me just say that Green Team (aka Earth) has a few bigtime standouts and the wild cat is looking pretty good as well!  ;) ... Don't forget to tune in Wednesday's at 7:30 pm EST.

And what is really hot is the pack sales.  The sales of the packs have gone from about 500 a day to roughly 1500 - 2000 a day on many days now.  That is a 3 to 4-fold increase in a very short period of time and something that is amazing when you consider that stats or the rules of gameplay aren't released yet, and even more important the games are still a month away.  I say wonderful job to both @aggroed and @yabapmatt for really doing an incredible job on both design and marketing as they have really taken Steemit by storm!

### What's On The Horizon

As mentioned above, the two big "events" coming will be:

##### 1) the stats of each card (what powers and abilities each one will have), along with the rules of play (how many cards can be played, what is better against what, how will the matches work, etc...)


##### 2) Gameplay (do I really need to describe this one?)

This month coming up will be jam-packed with fun and excitement and you can literally feel the excitement in the discord rooms and when talking to other participants.  I am very excited and if you haven't gotten involved yet, it isn't too late.  You still have a month and you won't be kicking yourself if you take the plunge and learn what's going on! :D
