I Thought I Would Bring In Some Bottles To Recycle

Under the tarp are 2 thirty gallon garbage cans. One full of brown glass bottles and on full of green glass bottles. Then I have 2 twenty gallon garbage cans each full of clear glass bottles. These are mostly beer bottles.

No, these were not my bottles, but they were given to me by the boys next door. You see they like to drink and they didn't want to deal with the bottles. So one of them wanted me to take them. Well I have been collecting their bottles for awhile now.

I usually rinse out the bottles with water. I don't like to work with sticky bottles and rinsing out the bottles also takes the smell away.

I knew that the place I was going to take them to wanted the glass separated by color. Bottles had to be separated into brown, green and clear.

I just wanted to see how much this would bring. So I loaded up the garbage cans by size, then I tarped and roped them down.

It was to be hot today, about 103 degrees F. Well, it was hot and I was sweating pretty good. My 91 Chevy S10 doesn't have a working air conditioner. One of these days I would like to get the air conditioning working again. Yes, one of these days.

So I am dripping with sweat. After I got there I started unloading the clear glass first. Well, next time I'm going to unload the dark glass first. You, see in the hot sun those glass bottles are increasing in heat.

So when I got to the green glass they were pretty hot. Then the brown glass was even hotter. Next time I'm going to unload the brown glass first and green glass second and the clear glass last. Maybe next time I'll also use a pair of those grip gloves that they sell at the dollar stores.

When I turned in the bottles they give me $17.57 in cash. That's not bad. Maybe next time I'll bring 3 thirty gallon garbage cans and 2 twenty gallon garbage cans full of bottles. That should get me over the $20 mark.

Do I have more bottles to turn in? Oh yes I do. Here is a picture of the bottles that I have left.

I'll have to rinse out some more bottles and bring them in.
