As it is written , Whither the forerunner is for us entered, Jesus, made and high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. Hebrews 6:20.

One thing to remember is that Melchisedec was king of Salem and priest of the most high God as mentioned in Hebrews 7:1.

So to be after the order of Melchisedec the kingship and priesthood must come together and it does in Jesus.

For it is written, Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; Hebrews 3:1.

And also written, Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; 1 Timothy 6:15.

Some might say that I can see the Jesus came from the line of Judah in Joseph of the line of king David.

What about the priesthood? Well lets look at the mother of Jesus, whose name is Mary. Was not Mary cousin to Elizabeth who was the wife of Zechariah the high priest? 

Well if Mary was related to Elizabeth and Elizabeth was married to Zechariah a high priest then if would mean that Elizabeth was of the line of Levi.

Then that would also mean that Mary was of the line of Levi.

So there is a bringing together of the kingship with Joseph who is of the line of Judah and the priesthood with Mary who is of the line of Levi.

Jesus brings us into being kings and priests for it is also written, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Revelation 1:6.

For Jesus did say, For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. Matthew 12:50.
