Back in 2012, it was very common for me to visit the head town of the municipality of Viñales.

But at that time I was struck by the reconstruction of an atypical building, on the left side, a short distance from entering the main street of the village on the way up to the park.
Very famous in the whole region, the house of Don Tomas, is the oldest house in the village, founded in 1889, according to a wall of the perimeter fence.
Converted into a restaurant of reference for those who visit and enjoy the charms of Viñales, the two-storey house is completely built of wood and shingles and finely painted in light blue with the green of the mogotes of the valley that serve as a backdrop.
The old house is preceded by a front courtyard dotted with some not very sturdy trees and is crossed by a shed with an oval roof and adorned with climbing plants from the same sidewalk to the house

The interior is also beautiful and pleasant, and the first floor, elevated on a cement basement more than a meter high, is accessed by a wide staircase also made of this material.

>Alla por el año 2012, era muy comun que yo visitara el poblado cabecera del.minicipio de Viñales
>Allí habia mucha efervescencia de turismo internacional y también se respiraba una activa vida cultural. Tanto de la autónoma y sincera viviendo desde sus raices, como la del fetiche pseudo artístico y folklórico de los centros recreativos, hospedajes, y las ferias artesanales.
>Pero en esos tiempos me llamaba la atención la reconstruccion de una edificación atípica, en el lateral izquierdo,v a poca distancia de entrar a la calle principal del poblado en ascenso hacia el parque.
> Muy renombrada en toda la comarca, la casa de Don Tomas, es la casa mas antigua del poblado, fundada en el año 1889, segun cuenta en un muro de la cerva perimetral .
> Convertida en restauran de referencia para lis que visitan y disfrutan de los encantos de Viñales la vivienda de tabla machimbrada y de dos plantas ,esta totalmente construida de madera y tejas y finamente pintada de de azul celeste constata con el verde de los mogotes del valle que le sirven de telon de fondo .
>A la antigua vivienda le antecede , un patio delantero salpicado de algunos árboles no muy robustos es atravesado por un cobertizo de techo ovalado y adornado por plantas de enredaderas desde la misma acera has la vivienda
>Esta casa restaurant siempre ha estado acompañada de la fama de buen servicio y confort por lo que en cualquier epoca del año mantiene el servicio a los clientes que la prefieren por encima de las demas instalaciones turísticas del territorio, que también son de muy buena calida.l
>El interior es también hermoso y agradable y a la planta baja, elevada sobre un bazamento de cemento de más de un metro de alto se accede por una amplia escalinata tambien de ese material.
Ya desde el portal se puede disfrutar del ambiente a tempra hora de la mañana, y de un exquisito desayuno. De la agradable atención de los trabajadores. Y de la buena vibra que emana el lugar
