The watch that started it all, the Timex Weekender!

This was the very first watch I purchased about 2 or so years ago when I was still toying with the idea on wearing a watch and the practicality of them. This opened up the door to my love for watches, and I've since purchased probably 5 or 6 more. After looking through a few recommendation posts on reddit, I figured I'd give this watch a look on Amazon. The price point for this is just right, coming in at around $30, though you can get it for about half that price or less depending on if it's on sale. I think this is a good entry point for someone looking to get into collecting watches, as it will allow you to get a feel if they're really for you or not without breaking the bank for a good quality EDC watch. The style on this thing is very simple, which I like. It's a 38MM watch, with a stainless steel case/frame, and a nylon NATO strap in OD green. The straps are easily swappable if you'd like to change it out for something different, though I personally think the strap it comes with is very comfortable.

It has a 30M water resistance, so you don't have to worry about the watch getting ruined if you leave it on while washing your hands or taking a shower. The indiglo backlight feature is pretty nice, and it does glow fairly bright compared to a few other watched I've handled with a similar feature. Funnily enough, although this watch is called the Weekender, it doesn't have a time/date feature which just seems a bit ironic to me. Nothing to deter me from recommending this to anyone wanting a watch though, it is a great piece for the price and should last a very long time.

The only downside to this watch for me is that it is loud. And, when I say loud, I mean LOUD. You can hear this thing tick from 7 or 8 feet away. Anytime I take it off and leave it on my dresser you can hear it so long as the TV isn't on. I don't really personally mind this so much, but it's definitely something to mention as this could easily bother some people who prefer quiet/no noise watches.

Anyways, I just felt like doing a short little review on this cool piece to see if anyone on here would be interested in more watch reviews/overviews. Thanks for checking out my post! If you liked it, feel free to follow me or resteem. If you've got any questions or comments, leave them below!
