Hurricane Irma tracking is ever changing. The latest tracking has it hitting Florida and then making its way up to the Carolinas.

Same suggestion, prepare anyways for * Power outages * Flooding You should assume that your power will be out for at least one day, but if you are in an area that is notorious for long power outages, then if you haven't already bought a backup generator, maybe now is the time to invest. With the proper planning, you could with stand a few days of no power, if the weather decides to go back to cooperating. One of the biggest issues is keeping cool and hydrated after a power outage. Have a few gallons of bottled water on hand. Put them in a place that is easy access but not obstruction normal pathways. If you feel that you need to get out of your neighborhood, you want to be able to get the emergency supplies and get out as fast as you can. You can't expect the place you escaping to will have fresh water as well, so bring what you can. Take a pot and equipment to safely boil water. Check your batteries. And if possible, have a hand-cranked radio or even a way to hand-crank power to your USB powered device. If you are not familiar with using flammable lights, I wouldn't recommend lighting a fire as a method of illumination. And if you are unaware of any gas leaks or spills, not worrying about setting yourself and everything around you on fire, is a good thing. Do you need more some ideas on how to prepare? Well, I posted [The Event : Are You Prepared in September?](https://steemit.com/news/@deanlogic/the-event-are-you-prepared-in-september) as a reminder that the government provides helpful lists for getting started on your planning. With Irma 5 days out, now would be a good time to go over those lists. Even if you aren't in the path of Irma, you probably should be thinking about your preparedness plans this month. What are the natural disasters for your area? Even if remotely possible, think of what could happen and how you can stock up supplies and make a plan for outlasting what Mother Nature might throw at you. Of course, the worst thing that could happen if you are prepared and nothing happened, is that you slept more soundly the night before.
___
Let the positive energy sing!
More Power to the Minnows!!
