I was expecting this movie to be one of the best of last year, after just watching it I gotta say the movie is good with several stressing moments because the plot was designed to be this way, but I don't consider it one of the best ones of last year. 

When seeing Adam Sandler we always associate him with comedy. I wanted to finally see this actor in a serious role and this movie kind of fulfills this wish. Except for the fact that his character isn't as smart or serious as I was hoping. 

The story is that of a jewelry store owner that cannot control his betting impulses, he owns a ton of debt to several dangerous people, he has some kind of friendship with a suspicious guy with the looks of a criminal, and he is constantly making stupid decisions instead of calming down and fixing his problems one at a time.

Maybe this has to do with the gambling disorder that makes these people believe they only need 1 huge hit to fix their mistakes, so they constantly try and try again for that one miraculous win. This movie isn't about betting, by the way, it is about a guy managing to overcome his financial issues as a result of his lack of control. Small spoiler ahead, this is made very clear when he gives the NBA player a very precious possession, which was something that didn't make any sense due to the risk involved.

The thriller succeeds in creating a series of events that get more complicated while the level of stress in the main character continues to increase. His life is a mess but he does everything he can to keeps things under control while at the same time enduring the consequences of being irresponsible about his debts.

I understand why some people consider this movie one of the best one of the last 12 months, it has its good moments but it is far from being a top 5 movie of 2019 in my own opinion. Nevertheless, this movie is an easy recommendation for those that enjoy thrillers, and dramas with crimes. It was also good to see Sandler being the main actor in something different than a comedy.

#### The best
* Intense plot although thanks to all the praise surrounding this movie I was expecting it to be even more intense. No Escape with Owen Wilson, for example, was a REALLY intense movie.
* Sandler does a good job portraying this successful but also kind of dumb character. 


#### The worst
* Adam Sandler's character was simply too dumb sometimes and too impulsive. It would be almost impossible to achieve the level of success of this character with so little control over his actions. This huge flaw in the character made this movie seems like a comedy sometimes instead of a drama driven crime movie, and I don't think this was the intention. Also, I don't believe this is Sandler's fault, but Sadfies's.
