0.000 HBDINTERVIEW WITH THE MAJOR GENERAL FOR NYSC
**INTERVIEW WITH THE MAJOR GENERAL FOR NYSC.** *Beautiful morning to my people. It is so glad and appreciative to God for this beautiful opportunity to be among the living, lives were gone during the previous year but glory to God for making us be a partaker of his livelihood.* **Who will I call for an interview?** *If I'm to be provided an opportunity to interview someone, I would like to interview the Major General of NATIONAL YOUTHS SERVICE CORPS (NYSC). The program NYSC for graduates is not really scheduled properly. Some corpers are really passing through lots in their place of service.* **My few months experience as a corper** *I was mobilized for service last year July which was Batch B stream 1. At the first few days after my registration, I was so expectant regarding my place of deployment. To my greatest surprise, I saw my deployment state, which was Plateau state. Wow, it was a heart break for me because I wasn't expecting that far. I told my parents, though, they had no choice they av to accept. Travelling down to Plateau State was so stressful because I went by land… Lagos to Plateau state by land was a 30hrs journey. Wow, it was so stressful and tiring.* *Actually, camp was so interesting and somehow stressful. The cold in Jos was so much that I couldn't cope staying over them, so had to redeploy to Ondo State. On the last day in camp, I found out that my state of redeployment worked. I was so happy I'm quite close to Lagos. I traveled back to Lagos around August 2023. Furthermore, I stayed some days at home before leaving again to Ondo state to continue my service year.* *Documentations and activities were so choking over there at Akure NYSC Secretariat. After all stress I passed through, I was posted to a private secondary school as my place of primary assignment.* *I went there as well to see the school and as well commence work. Getting to the school, the principal of the school approached me, asked me those subjects I can take. The mistake I made was telling the principal that I can take any subjects in Junior school and take commercial subjects in Senior school. At the long run I was given 4 different subjects to take as a corper not even a full staff. I complained I can't take more than two subjects. They actually asked me to try teaching them, pending the time they get another teacher to take those subjects… Hmm, anyway I accepted. One month working in the school was so stressful, tee fare down to the school. I woke up early as 6am to meet the time given. But still, I don't meet the time (7:30am). Still, end of the month the proprietor deduct from my stipend because of late coming. In fact at times we work extra hour after closing hour, if these rules are meant for their full staff it shouldn't be meant for corpers. Ahhhh, working in that school was so stressful for me, I regretted working in that school. The worse part is before we vacated for December, the proprietor owe me my November and December stipends.* *I'm very sure my other colleagues out there are passing through similar issues like mine or even more than mine in their place of services. The federal government stipend is too small to cater for a youth in a month.* **Now, my question to the Major General?** *I would like to tell me that he should see to the stipend paid to corpers. There should be an increment to cater for them, if not all.* *And again there should be a warning and awareness to all PPA that they shouldn't treat corpers like their full staff, so far they are not paying them equally.* *Lastly, NYSC body should make sure they're good accommodation for the corps member. They are grown up people, they shouldn't be staying in a tattered area or environment.* **NYSC Nigeria needs to re strategize their operations, at least in a taste of favoring the graduating youths** ***Thank You for reading through*** ***Dave!***
