The mapping and inspections at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International (ATL) was successfully completed by Airbus Aerial.

Airbus received clearance from the Federal Aviation Administration before commencing the survey. The team used SenseFly drone with GPS capabilities to capture aerial images of the runway with an accuracy of less than 5 cm. “The fully automated drone is capable of mapping an entire runway in one flight with a single operator,” states Airbus Aerial.

Airbus Aerial engineers developed the report of the inspection including 3D mapping.

“We are excited by this opportunity and very pleased with the outcome,” says Jesse Kallman, President of Airbus Aerial. The results clearly define the time and costs savings and successful completion of such critical work.
