Hello friends, Hope you all are well. My today’s post is related to kite which reminds our adolescence. As I grown up in village, the kite attracts me more. Our childhood was full of fun and excitement. Still I could remember those days. We used to wake up early in the morning. After completing morning study, we went for school. There was a large playground in our school. In the tiffin period we used to play different local games with our friends. In the evening after returning from school we gathered in a place. It was our best time of the day. Now, at this stage of life I can feel that we had passed our golden time during that period. However, back to the story of my young age. We always selected our games depending on the season. Winter is the time for badminton and cricket as no rain is there. We used to play football in summer season. In the rainy season we used to run boat race. This was so much exciting. Spring season was the time to play with kite. This was the event we commonly did in our childhood. Here throughout this blog I will be sharing some pictures kites. First one is from my daughter’s drawing copy. She made it with much care. As there were no rain usually in spring season, we used to fly kite in this season. We had big preparations to fly kites. We had to make kite by ourselves. We bought colourful papers from market. Then we arranged glue from a local fruit called ‘gab’. This was very much effective and sticky glue. Then we arranged bamboo slices to make the kite. Here is another picture of kite which I took from my son’s drawing book. After making the kite, we were busy to arrange yarns to fly kites. This was not the normal yarn. We made the yarn sharpened with broken glass and glue. The reason to make the yarn sharp was to cut the opponents kites. This was very much competitive and interesting game. Here is one picture of flying kite. Every year there was a fair of flying kites in our village. Participants from different village used to come to participate in this kites flying competition. On the occasion of kites flying, the villagers gathered in a specific field and enjoyed the game. I along with my friends participated this games many times. Here is another picture of flying kite. There were some specific rules to participate kites flying. No one were allowed to attack opponents kite unethically. Yarn count should be same of everyone’s kites. Some other rules were also there which I forgot now. The person who was able to cut more kites of the opponent, the judges declared him winner of the competition. There were attractive gifts for the winners. Here is the last picture of flying kites which I took few days back with my kids. My kids always draw the kites drawing by seeing the books rather the actual ones. Here some more pictures of kites from my daughter’s drawing copy. So, I decided to introduce the actual kites with them. I took them to a field where the actual kites fly. Above pictures I captured from from there. Remembering those days, sometimes my eyes get wet. The teammate and friends without whom I could not think a single moment, now at this age I might have forgotten many names of them. Everything plays like shadows in front of my eyes. Though I forgot some of my friends name, the memory is still with me. And it will remain rest of my life. Friendship forever. Here all the pictures were captured using my iPhone 11 Pro Max mobile phone. Thanks for stopping by.
