 Up and at ‘me bright and early today! 😀. We got out for a solid walk in the crisp morning air...where “crisp” is just a euphemism for “fu$&ing freezing.” Nah, wasn’t too bad really. 😆  We missed our #AutomaticWin by just a hair; like four minutes or so, which is waaaay worse than missing it by an hour ‘cause then you do the whole “if I’d left just a couple minutes earlier, then...” business. Not too bad, though, a little over eight kilometers! 💪 It was good to get out and get the exercise; got to be thankful that I’m able. 😊   The treetops were ablaze with fall’s fiery morning light.  Forsooth, I found a feathered fungus!  I said: “Moon, go to bed.” Moon said: “Read my lips, not gonna’ do it.”  Then we heard a terrible sound, like the crunching of a thousand bones beneath the wheels of a siege engine combined with the wailing and gnashing of teeth heard only in the fifth circle of the inferno, and before we could hide in utter fear there appeared the mighty Gthurb. The beast had taken on the likeness of a slug, but no, not just any slug, one that had grown to enormous proportions either by some cruel joke of perspective or by devouring the souls of its kin...  JK, it was only teeny tiny! 😂  In the evening I went and taught Calculus. Continuing with the theme of applying the derivative, we covered optimization problems. While they are just about as challenging for students as related rate problems, they are actually quite practical in countless contexts; at least somewhat less contrived than the typical problems students are used to. So, teaching done for the week, tomorrow’s Friday! Weekend here we come! Do I see some video games in the near future?
