The launch of a successful video platform is the holy grail of blockchain technology. Aside from the technical difficulties, there are many challenges revolving around illegal content, whether it is copyright infringement or outright banned material.

Solving these moral complexities requires a team that is open to discussion so that the developers and content creators can work together to make a platform that supports original creators and punishes infringements with vigilant authority.

There will be many competing video platforms using similar technology. In fact this is the cornerstone of decentralization and open source software. Everyone is free to compete but it's not all about technology.

On the surface, these competing video platforms may seem similar at the moment. However, Viewly will ultimately be a standalone platform, independant of Steem. Decentralized platforms rely on the integrity of the core group and I encourage you to read up on the teams involved in each project and make your own informed decision.

For better or worse, I am on the Viewly boat because they are building a platform that will take good care of the content providers, because they have experienced first hand the injustices of Youtube.

In addition Viewly will be independant of other platforms and will have its own unique **View Tokens** and each user will have their own reward pool, which will differentiate it from other video platforms.

The new demonetization policies of Youtube have made it increasingly difficult for individuals to make a successful career out of video creation.  Viewly aims to put the control back in the hands of the content creators.

In my next post I will highlight some of the musicians, videographers and animators that I have worked with in the past. Of course, while Viewly is in alpha testing phase videos will be uploaded to Youtube and onto Steemit (via the alpha.view.ly application) However, in the future, all of this **original content** will be created **exclusively for Viewly** and not released on any other platforms.

#### **Original Animation!**

My ultimate goal is to bring the incredible animators from my past to Viewly. It is sad truth that the talent of these animators is wasted on corporate videos and commercials. Creating a fair monetization policy will bring the talent to Viewly and together with the developers, I believe we can build a service that will motivate young animators and filmmakers to create their own original content.
