Steemhomework for the week! / Carlos Linneo
Carlos Linneo (Råshult, May 23, 1707-Upsala, January 10, 1778), Swedish naturalist and doctor. At age 24, he met Peter Artedi, with whom he worked until his death in a vast classification of all living beings. A few months before the death of Artedi, it was published in the Netherlands, thanks to a patronage, * Sistema naturae * the work that they elaborated in common.

Linnaeus resided until 1738 in the Netherlands where he published numerous systematic Botany works, returned to Sweden, founded the Academy of Sciences of Stockholm and taught Uppsala.

Its merit consists of having defined, described and provided a double Latin name for thousands of animal and vegetable species, most of which are still known by the name that Linnaeus attributed to them. This classification of plants and animals was an indispensable basis for any serious scientific work.

On the contrary Linnaean botanical classification, based on the number of stamens, lacks scientific value and constituted for a long time an obstacle to the development of the sciences of evolution.

Mendeléyev was one of the greatest masters of his time and is credited with educating thousands of students. He died on February 2, 1907, almost blind. Mendeléyev is considered a genius, not only for the ingenuity he showed to apply everything known and predict the unknown on the chemical elements and translate it into the periodic table, but for the numerous works carried out throughout his life in various fields of science, agriculture, livestock, industry and oil.

At present, the Linnaeus system is used, but living beings are classified on the basis of genetic criteria, which are the factors that regulate the expression of anatomical factors.
