After hitting an all-time low in June, from July the social media aspect of Hive started to see a jump in new users who become active by posting/commenting within 30 days. That increase appears to be slowing down. The September figure in the chart below is a projection based on how many users have become active so far, using past data to extrapolate the expected final result.

Last month I explained the jump based on an increase in users from Venezuela. This has dropped off even faster than the overall figure. Again the September figure is a projection.

Putting A and B together, if Augusts' increase was explained by new users from Venezuela which is no longer the case in September, presumably there is some other source of newly active users this month, but I haven't identified it yet. All I can say so far is that it is not one of the usual suspects (Venezuela, Nigeria, Philippines, Cuba, Colombia).

Despite the relatively good statistic for newly active users, there were fewer posts overall. It only just avoided an all time low.

There were also fewer posts tagged 'Spanish', but the trend of Hispanics being a larger part of the Hive userbase continues.
