In past I got access to the Mac machine, this was simulation based setup on the windows laptop. What you call hackintosh but then it didn't worked well for me. I had to switch to a machine which was old and the refurbished. Workspace for python needs to be setup. Some of the python based workspace with the data science as a workbench is going to benefit out of the anaconda. So when we look at the context of the distribution you have to think of the setting up it differently from the desktop based python. So I covered this recently in one of my post. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfQYwdi7lBg Take example of the Mac OS Sierra under which I tried this. And it was a good experience running the python and also the variety of the library. Download the Anaconda for your Mac [here](https://www.anaconda.com/download). This is a free download file and you can easily switch to the paid version if you want. But my most of the focus is on the opensource setup. You get three components with the anaconda. One being your notebook. This is same notebook which is coming under the jupyter notebook. And it has the navigator and the distribution. So the setup has different version than the setup that we have in the python's current version. There is also the cloud version that is out there. Like you have Free, Starter and the Pro version out there. So the enterprise and the business version is out of the picture. So you can make use of the options that you can get with these versions and see what works for you. There is this learning [page](https://learning.anaconda.cloud/) on the anaconda cloud that you can use for working with the packages and the variety of options that you have. Some of those options that you can make use of for working with the python packages and also the settings that we are planning around. You should consider making use of the learning and the courses of the anaconda python. So if you happen to load the libraries and the workspace through the anaconda then the python version on your desktop would be different and set aside from the anaconda that you have installed on the system. In short as you can see that it is a good distribution worth keeping around. Also do read about anyt new updates from the system. Because they often release a good tutorial and bundles that can teach you how to use the distribution effectively.
