<liketuimages> <center> </center> </liketuimages> Hello, friends especially foodies! Without the locals you wouldn’t be able to know that an old restaurant could be a gem, right? Accompanied by my cousin, we went to a small modest restaurant which already served over decades, yeah since 1960, this restaurant has served and it is still popular until now. You could see that in front it look like an old house with the brand up, SUDI MAMPIR. It means want to pass by, funny, isn’t it? It was in Javanese language, like their specialization there. The color of it was blue, my favorite. The small restaurant itself was located in Prigen, a small city in high area of East Java. And inside it was modest like old style dining room with some tables and chairs of course. Like from the outside, inside it was also colored blue. The restaurant had some popular menu such as traditional Indonesian cake named klepon which you needed to order before by phone, empal (traditional cooked beef), rawon (black beef soup), pecel (Indonesian veggie in peanut paste), and some others. The menus that we ordered that day were rawon rice (I surprised that they served their empal in rawon, black beef soup) and pecel without any rice. The price for their rice menu was 33K IDR or just around 2,1 USD but all their rice menus contained empal (traditional cooked beef) in it. How do you think about this price? The black beef soup tasted sweet, a bit too sweet for me, cause they only put a bit salt in it, it tasted light savory. But I loved their empal because it tasted sweet like it supposed to be, and the texture of it was soft. For the chilli paste they made it really spicy. Overall I only loved their empal from their rawon rice. Like the name, of course it served with rice in it as you could see it. Next, for their pecel, it tasted too sweet with no savory flavour at all. They served the boiled veggies such as cabbage, water spinach, long bean, bean sprout, and also tempeh. What I loved from it was just the chip called rempeyek, it had savory flavour, crunchy but soft texture and had peanut toppings on it. And anyway we also had some klepon to bring home (unfortunately I didn’t take any pic of it), it had sweet flavour with a bomb of melted brown sugar in it. It had green color with grated dried coconut on its’ surface. So, will you come to this place to find the gems? # Business Information SUDI MAMPIR 2nd.
