Well, I'm sitting here at my computer trying to think of what to say.... aaaand I still don't know, so I guess here it is? My name is Dallas, my wife Sabrina and I live in Vancouver Canada and we take photos for a living. It's literally a dream job and almost every day I think of how lucky I am to be able to do what I love for work. Here's a photo Sabrina took of me that I really love https://i.imgsafe.org/220d9b5489.jpg And here's one of us together at a recent trip to Banff National Park (I'm 6'2" and she is 4'11" so I take the selfies) https://i.imgsafe.org/221cb9eb57.jpg About the time when I met Sabrina, her dad had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We started dating, at probably the worst possible time, haha, and amazingly the relationship continued. Eventually her dad passed away, and by that time we knew we were going to get married so just about two months later we tied the knot. Sabrina's dad had spent most of his life in debt and working, meaning that she and her sister really didn't get a chance to know him. We decided that we didn't want to live that way. We wanted to live our life, do what we enjoy, and not be enslaved to debt and money, so about six months after we were married we decided to start our photography business and give our dream job a shot. We started taking wedding photos and within six months we had enough work booked that I could quit my full time job and focus entirely on photography, and we haven't looked back since. We love to travel so about three years ago we came up with a plan: let's try to get people to hire us to travel to their wedding and take photos of them. Well with a bit of ingenuity, some hard work, and a hell of a lot of determination it started to happen. Now, two years later, we have been to some incredible places all around the world because of our work, here's us on top of a mountain in China: https://i.imgsafe.org/2240c36dd7.jpg Our plan worked out so well in fact that this October we are going to be speaking at a photography conference on the topic of shooting destination weddings, crazy! Sabrina is a Spanish/Canadian citizen as well so in May of next year we will be moving to Barcelona Spain. It's a huge move for us, as neither of us have ever lived outside of Canada, but we are looking forward to the adventure. Our work is mainly wedding photos, and if you want to check that out you can take a look at our blog: www.dallaskphoto.com or our website: www.dallaskolotylo.com but I won't be posting wedding photos here on Steemit (I don't know if clients would appreciate that, haha) I love to do street photography though and I have been getting more and more into landscape/nature photography. Here are a couple photos of that waterfall behind us in the selfie shot, it's called Bow Glacier Falls and it's in Banff National park, well worth a visit if you are ever in Banff. https://i.imgsafe.org/226381d0dc.jpg https://i.imgsafe.org/226397cda3.jpg Neither of us have had any formal training/school in photography, we are both self taught, or maybe the internet taught us. It's crazy to think about because my dream jobs as a kid were (in this order) Astronaut (literally had to google how to spell Astronaut just then) Firefighter, and Photographer. I spent most of my late teens/twenties working as a construction grunt, house painter, moving truck box carrier guy, pizza shop dweeb, window washer, gutter cleaner, basically anything that would pay the bills, so to come out of that with one of my top three dream jobs as my career is quite an amazing privilege. Anyhow that's basically me I guess, I'm super stoked to be starting out on Steemit, it's already been fun and taken up way too much of my day, hahaha. Looking forward to posting more and seeing more of this place! Cheers, Dallas K
