<center> Today started out pretty well, woke up nice and early, had a shower, felt well, the day was looking beautiful, everything was going great!  We left our place (which happened to be in Lisbon Portugal) and about four hours later arrived exhausted and drenched in sweat at our empty flat in Barcelona.  (If you didn't know, I'm Canadian, so this crazy Barcelona heat really hits me) Immediately dropped our bags, toweled off (couldn't shower cause our hot water was not working) and headed out to try and find a mattress so that we don't have to sleep on the floor tonight. Mattress shop didn't have anything we were looking for so we said "whatever, let's just go to Ikea and get all the other bed stuff we'll need, and maybe they will have a mattress there too!"  So we headed out to Ikea on the bus and did the walk around tour, picking up pillows, towels, sheets and the like all along the way. Didn't find a mattress that we liked as much as the one we saw a week ago, so we decided to head home, and maybe try and go get that mattress... from the store 45 minute walk from our house... without a car.  Hopped on the bus/subway home with our giant blue Ikea bags full of cheap Swedish home things, arrived back at our flat (me quite nearly drowning in my own sweat at this point) toweled off again and headed out to the mattress store.  Turns out they did have the mattress we wanted but they couldn't deliver it that day. Crap, I don't want to sleep on the cold tiled floor tonight after a week of travel/work and just arriving that morning from Portugal. Well, they do this thing with mattresses here in Europe where they roll them up real tight in plastic, so it makes it easier to transport. I said to the mattress guy "just hang on like 20 minutes, I'm gonna go figure something out." Proceeded to wander around for about 20 minutes till we found a junk store that had one of those granny rolley carts for a few euros, "that'll work" I said, and headed back to the mattress shop, fully expecting the mattress guy to laugh at me and mock me to my face.  I guess he see's this type of thing a lot cause he wasn't fazed even a tiny bit, he even asked if I needed tape to secure it to the (ridiculously undersized) rolley cart.  Well, got the stupid thing taped on, and headed out the door for a ridiculous trek through downtown Barcelona with a rolled up queen size mattress on a rickety little cart. About 1 hour of walking and dodging pedestrians later, and the mattress was finally in our flat! Plus, as a little bonus, I got the hot water boiler working!!!! Wanna guess what it was? <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> ## Batteries. <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> Yup, you read that correctly, our hot water boiler uses two D size batteries to fire the clicker that ignites the butane. That's what was wrong with it, batteries.  What a ridiculous day. My knees and feet are killing me, and now I'm hanging out at the McDonalds around the corner from my house cause the nice cafe is closed and we don't have internet yet! But we all know I need my Steemit fix. Oh, did I mention I flew in from Portugal this morning??? Also I think Bitcoin hard forked today? Well, I'm gonna go home and lay down in my new mattress now, really gonna enjoy it after lugging the damn thing halfway across the city!  Night folks. </center>
