Can You Leave an OOS Notification Post When Taking a Break? - Or Unfollow Mode /on To those Who Quit

Yet another topic about Steemit, ha! Guilty pleasure as @wakeupsheeps once said. I've been doing an audit on my followers' list and I realized that during the first month, I was just excitedly following back those who followed me. Now that I've learned my lesson, I want to make sure that my precious feed is only for those I really like, those who contribute content and those who stayed because they love to write.

Now, I am very picky when it comes to following other people, I have the following considerations.

- You have been active on steemit because writing is your passion
- You like to read other people's posts to gain knowledge but you also contribute
- You are not only here for the money, either you like to write or you like to learn
- You let me know _sometimes_ why my post deserves your big upvote
- I will follow you regardless if you are new on the platform or not
- Just because you are famous does not mean I will follow you
- You are not only a resteemer

I don't even care if your posts are just recycled videos, memes or photography. I will still keep following you. I think these things entertain us as well, especially now that quality content is becoming a myth. If people think they deserve big upvotes, then let them be. We have a free world here, let's just focus on what we do.

I never have to ask people to follow me, when I started writing my adventures and travel experiences, people just followed me. I didn't even have to leave my post links on those famous people's blog. I rarely even comment on their blogs in hopes of being followed, unless of course, they are very, very interesting, and not posting the same old topics just being recycled every day on the trending page. I'm actually more focused on my own followers who deserve my support.

I believe that if you are really confident in what you write, then you don't have to worry about the number of followers. What you need are _quality_ followers, those who genuinely read your posts, it does not matter if they are big upvoters or not. I prefer someone who actually engages with the community. Of course, not all the time as I understand everyone is busy! There are just some silent upvoters who never commented on your post. Does having a lot of sp turn you into a snob? Oh well, no complaints. I'm in a holy land and I love rewards!

Perhaps those who are planning to take a break for months can leave like a post saying that they are taking a break. I can just think that they are leaving the platform for good. I will continuously follow those who refused to quit, those who write not only for the rewards and those who are staying for the community.

I will follow those people with blogs that really interest me. If they are not interested in what I write, I don't care. I will still follow them.

I don't care if people unfollowed me because I didn't follow them back. I don't need them.

There's a saying that anything you chase in life runs away. If you chase those big guys or famous bloggers, leaving your post links on their blogs or asking them to follow you, it will just make you look desperate. They will be put off, and they'll just ignore you. Especially now that they are famous. Just trust your ability and not be worried about the number of followers or what others do.

Just let us know when you are leaving so you can have at least final upvotes or rewards!

Before following me, please check my previous posts. I usually write about my travels or whatever my distorted mind has to offer. If you follow me and you're not really interested with that, then you'll only be disappointed! Unfollow @diabolika
