<liketuimages> <center>        </center> </liketuimages> 為甚麼我會知道知名繪本畫家幾米，不是因為他的作品，而是因為姪女的關係，因為她很喜歡幾米的繪本，在她小時候，去陪她玩耍的時候，她都要我念繪本上的故事給她聽，不過，我猜，很可能大部份的人會認識台灣繪本畫家幾米是因為他的作品，曾經被翻拍成浪漫愛情電影的《向左走·向右走》，由金城武和梁詠琪主演，電影場景有我熟悉的西門町徒步區、華納威秀影城、台北101及北投公園，講述的是一對都會男女因為命運的捉弄總是和彼此擦肩而過的故事，還算好看。 這次，我又是被朋友拉過來陪看幾米的畫作，還好朋友有做功課，我都不知道原來在誠品畫廊有幾米的限時個展，時間是 11月25日到12月30日，某個下午，我們就興沖沖的過去畫廊，不得不說誠品真的是深耕文化產業，誠品書店的 24 小時不打烊經營模式，讓它成為愛書人的津津樂道的好書店，書店和商場結合經營的碰撞，不但洗去了商業氣息，更添加了人文氣息，成為一種新的經營美學，而誠品畫廊就位於誠品松菸店，被 CNN 評選為14家「世界最酷百貨」之一。 我之前就有去過誠品松菸店，對它倒也不是不熟悉，但是我們在裡頭轉了 20 多分鐘，在美食區及特色店之間找了半天，就是找不到誠品畫廊，後來才發現誠品畫廊藏在某個角落的深處，雖然有指標，但是我和朋友都一直漏看，其實，畫廊雖然精美但是空間不大的，幾米的油畫創作，也是維持他的一貫風格，有著豐富的想像力和故事性，畫面中多半只有一位可愛小男孩或小女孩，角色臉上沒有展露明顯的情緒，朋友是看的蠻起勁的，而我這個外行人，新鮮感過了，就開始到處晃晃，觀察他人。 我是覺得幾米作品風格是充滿夢幻及詩意，畫風雖然簡潔但不失豐富，他能以輕柔的線條營造出寧靜而溫馨的畫面，而畫面雖然簡單，卻能夠表達出豐富的情感和故事，所以當朋友找我去看幾米的畫作時，我立刻答應，因為至少我能看得懂，創作者可能想要表達的情感，也因為他的知名度，要跟他人聊的話，也比較有共鳴，至少我們雙方都知道幾米是誰，對他的創作也有些認識，另外，我也可以和好友有個悠閒舒服的午後時光。 <br> --- <br> I know the renowned illustrator Jimmy not because of his works but because of my niece. She loves Jimmy's picture books, and whenever I used to spend time with her, she would ask me to read the stories from Jimmy's books. However, I guess most people might recognize the Taiwanese illustrator Jimmy because of his works, particularly the film adaptation of his work "Turn Left, Turn Right," starring Takeshi Kaneshiro and Gigi Leung. The movie, set in familiar places like Ximending pedestrian area, Vie Show Cinemas, Taipei 101, and Beitou Park, tells the story of a couple who keep narrowly missing each other due to the twists of fate. It's a decent watch. This time, I was brought to accompany a friend to see Jimmy's art. Luckily, my friend did some research, and I wasn't even aware that there was a limited-time solo exhibition of Jimmy at the Eslite Gallery from November 25th to December 30th. One afternoon, we excitedly went to the gallery. I have to say Eslite has truly invested in cultural industries. Their 24/7 operation model for Eslite Bookstore, blending bookstore and mall, removes the commercial feel and adds a touch of humanism, making it a bookstore loved by book enthusiasts. The Eslite Gallery is located in Eslite Songshan, recognized by CNN as one of the "14 coolest department stores in the world." I've been to Eslite Songshan before, so it wasn't entirely unfamiliar to me. However, we spent over 20 minutes wandering around the food court and unique shops, unable to find the Eslite Gallery. Eventually, we realized it was tucked away in some corner. Though the gallery was exquisite, it wasn't very spacious. Jimmy's oil paintings maintained his consistent style, rich in imagination and storytelling. Most of his paintings feature a cute boy or girl, their faces devoid of distinct emotions. My friend enjoyed it, but as a layperson, once the novelty wore off, I began observing others in the gallery. In my opinion, Jimmy's style is filled with fantasy and poetry. Despite the simplicity, his artwork is rich, creating tranquil and heartwarming scenes with gentle lines. Though the images are straightforward, they convey a wealth of emotions and stories. When my friend invited me to see Jimmy's artwork, I readily agreed. At least I can understand what the artist might be trying to express, and due to his popularity, it gives us something in common to talk about.
