## Project Details [Simplified Version]
- As a community, we'll be creating music from scratch. The strategy is to combine selected participants that demonstrate proficient competence in their craft, then, collectively produce a track. This process will be repeated with different participants for each track.

- As executive producers of Block Mountain, participants will be selected by DJ Lethal Skillz (@djlethalskillz) and Scuzzy Ruckus (@scuzzy).
- All qualified participants will be compensated. However, that incentive isn't what we're promoting for Block Mountain. Our request for the participants is to practice the philosophies of Block Mountain: to engage, empower, and enable.
- After professionally mixing and mastering the all the tracks for the project, we will initially release it on major blockchain platforms, as well as, press kits sent to major music blogs and cryptocurrency-based websites.
- Eventually, the project will be distributed to major streaming music services, i.e., iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, Amazon Music, Pandora, Tidal, etcetera.
- One music video with all artists involved in the making of the project.

## Submission Process & Information
- Create a new post, include “Block Mountain Submission” in the title of your post and use the first tag ‘#blockmountain’.
-  Your entries can consist of an embedded audio or video of the song with a brief description about it, and details on which skills are you presenting. You're not required to create new music for this contest. Share **anything** that highlights your abilities.

- Submit your submission post link in the comments section. Ensure that the submission highlights the best of your abilities.
- Feel free to add cover art and other images, provided you credit the source.
- This is a multi-genre project, so we'll be reviewing everything, no matter how abstract it is!


## Deadline
- Submissions for Block Mountain will be open for approximately four weeks. It could be cut short or extended depending on whether the participant quota is met or not. Submitting sooner than later is recommended.
- Qualified participants will be contacted and directed to our Discord channel exclusive to Block Mountain, where the majority of our communication will be.

**BLOCK MOUNTAIN** is a collaborative music project between DJ Lethal Skillz and Scuzzy Ruckus that aims to engage, strengthen, and invigorate Steemit artists, musicians, and the community. 


The purpose is to contribute to the enrichment of our community so that integrity and sincerity are acknowledged and awarded. In addition, Block Mountain strives to not only enlighten Steemit members, but also to make awareness of Steemit, its initiatives, affiliates, and other blockchain platforms to potentially productive members.

# What is Block Mountain?
In the geological sense, a block mountain is a type of rejuvenated mountain formed by an enormous underground pressure that forces a whole rock mass to break away from another. As a result, a 'block mountain' is uplifted from the surrounding land. 


We simplified this concept of block mountains and poetically interpreted it into three key principles and philosophies relevant to us. The Block Mountain music project strives to achieve the following:
1. To encourage the qualitative progression of our community by uplifting and supporting those who are like-minded.
2. To encourage collaborative projects because "*if everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself*" (Henry Ford).
3. To bring awareness and educate our community, as well as to those outside of the blockchain.


Block Mountain is about our fundamental principles and a state of mind that we are pursuing to advocate: self-growth and community solidarity.

# The Block Mountain Album
The primary initiative is to produce and release the first of the Block Mountain album series featuring the Steemit community. 


Qualified musical talents will be selected to join the project. Based on their musical specialty, each participant will be assembled into groups in which the collective will collaborate to produce a new track. This process is repeated until the ideal number of tracks are completed.
