I believe this serious looking little fellow is what is known as a "Yellow-bellied Marmot" aka ground hog, wood chuck, ground squirrel or a dozen other names depending on where it lives. Marmots can be found in many places around the world, including North America, Europe and Asia, This variety of marmot is found in southwest Canada and western United States, typically in mountainous regions like the Rocky Mountains which makes sense because I took the photograph of this little fellow in the Rocky Mountain area of North America near Beaver Creek in Colorado, USA.
