AMC Entertainment is a cinema operator with hundreds of cinemas around the United States and it also has hundreds of theaters in other parts of the world as well. AMC is the largest [movie theater chain](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_movie_theater_chains) in the world today. 

And they are about to start accepting bitcoin for payment. 

The company's CEO has suggested that they will have the technology in place by the end of the year to make [this happen](https://www.reuters.com/technology/amc-entertainment-will-have-technology-receive-bitcoin-payment-by-year-end-ceo-2021-08-09/). 

You can already use Bitcoin to pay for a variety of goods or services, in one way or another, but the fact that it will be accepted by the largest movie theater chain in the U.S. as payment is significant. 

After making this change it will enable millions of Americans to easily exchange their bitcoin for movie tickets if they want and other goods once that system is in place for them to accept the payment.

With this [recent announcement](https://www.cnbc.com/2021/08/09/amc-says-it-will-accept-bitcoin-as-payment-for-movie-tickets-by-year-end.html) we can only wonder what business chain might be next in announcing their plans as well to accept this cryptocurrency as payment for goods or services.

and it might not stop there either.

Maybe in the near future they might accept multiple forms of cryptocurrency as payment and not just Bitcoin.
