This is the same band that brought you the 'Bad Boys' hit, the well known COPS theme song. Because 'Bad Boys' is one of the most popular songs in the world you might assume that it is the most well known song from Inner Circle, but that title rests [with their other hit](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bad_Boys_(Inner_Circle_song)), 'Sweat'. I have a few reggae songs that have made it into my forever rotation and this song is included among others like Jamming, Bad Boys, Could You Be Loved, One Love, and others. Sweat is a feel-good jam that has already managed to earn almost 100 million views on YouTube and is still going strong on other streaming services today.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fwgus_c1zGw
From their humble beginning in Kingston, they have come a long way and put out many hits along the way, becoming one of the most popular *Jamaican reggae fusion groups* of all time. Some might even refer to them as a Jamaican [reggae pop band](https://www.starnewsonline.com/news/20190702/bad-boys-of-reggae-inner-circle-bring-50-years-of-music-to-wilmington), but that might not be the first title they'd give themselves. Originally, they started as a reggae roots band, but with the acceptance and designation in pop they managed to have songs played all over the world. Their hit Sweat (A La La La La Long) was released in early 90s, back in 1992, and was the lead single that they released from their Bad to the Bone album. Many people might have enjoyed singing along to the song, children included, without paying much attention to the lyrics. A good beat just draws you in, it can't be helped.
https://media2.giphy.com/media/TcvaohKVy28Ni/source.gif
Over the years since it was first released, the song has managed to rank itself on surprisingly '[inappropriate song](https://www.standard.net.au/story/734863/five-surprisingly-inappropriate-songs/)' lists on at least one occasion. That hasn't stopped the success. Aside from Sweat, Inner Circle have got a number of *issue driven songs*, like one of their most famous songs 'Bad Boys,' and that has stuck with them for years despite the mainstream acceptance for the music along the journey. That protest spirit that is traditionally inherent in much reggae music was still noticeable in their music journey and Inner Circle have worked for years in trying to *leave fans with a message*, not just a [good vibe](http://wordmag.com/inner-circle/) with their art.
