Many schools around the US are on edge because of the trend in school shootings and violence that has taken place on school grounds over the years.

Each time a school shooting takes place the discussion comes up again about what should be done about it, ideas are shared about any new measures that might be employed to help keep children safe.

Some lawmakers have now passed rules that require the installation of panic buttons in schools.

But in some of those circumstances it wasn't a matter of having police show up on time, but rather having them go in to the school when they arrive and act as quickly as possible to deescalate the situation this is what we expect and should always see, even if we haven't.

There are calls for more security and more equipment now as communities look to do what they can about boosting their school safety.

# Spending millions on panic buttons
Some schools are now spending millions of dollars to get those panic buttons to try and make their facilities safer. This is just one more idea among many that has been suggested to try and boost the safety of those communities in any way possible.

At least for those staff who are going to be equipped with the panic button now they will have *one more tool* available to them to try and call out for help if it is needed in the chance that it can help to save lives and get a response there when it is needed.

Over the last several years around the US schools have spent tens of millions of dollars trying to boost security.
