https://i.imgflip.com/6exf7u.jpg Gas prices are hitting record highs and for drivers things have been getting expensive to the point that it might mean prioritizing some trips over others. The standard of living for millions decreases as things get more expensive for food, driving, and more. The solution? According to some it is as simple as buying an electric vehicle. But many drivers today cannot afford an EV. These vehicles also aren't immune from criticism over what impact they might have on the environment as well. The average cost of an EV in 2021 was around $56,000 and that would mean people going into debt if they were going to make the transition. Is that a wise idea? Most Americans don't have the funds to afford a small emergency of only a few thousand, where are they going to come up with tens of thousands for a new vehicle? That "solution" doesn't even approach the realm of being helpful. pics: imgflip Sources: https://www.techdigest.tv/2022/05/almost-half-of-drivers-cant-afford-ev-survey-claims.html https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2021/aug/20/electric-car-batteries-what-happens-to-them https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/01/investing/stocks-week-ahead/index.html
