Facing a lack of goods like fuel and a shortage of cash too, the economy has continued to sprial down in Sri Lanka. People are suffering and the president has been ousted, while authorities are still scrambling to gain some sense of control in the region.

Weeks ago it was reported that they would soon run out of fuel in the area and there wasn't a clear idea of when supplies might be coming in to meet the need. They stopped giving that fuel supply out to non-essential services weeks ago as the crisis continued to get worse.

Those who are now suffering and paying the price for all of the alleged corruption and money mishandling have vowed that those who are responsible are not going to get away so easily.

The PM a few weeks ago suggested that the economy was indeed headed for rock bottom in the area and there are already families fleeing to try and find a better life elsewhere in the midst of what is going on.

Human rights groups have also urged authorities in the region not to use force on protesters as well.

The people at the top have failed and now the public is paying the price in the region for it on a severe level and you see as soon as things started to fall apart *that the PM ran away* like a coward. Those who should be held accountable are those who have been responsible for the most direct manipulation of the market, wouldn't you think? Yet authorities will play musical chairs doing anything they can in Sri Lanka, Venezuela, and all other regions, to avoid taking responsibility and blame these issues on just about *anything they can* other than themselves and their self-destructive monetary policies and actions.
