# The US is expected to be sending 4000+ more troops to Afghanistan.
That's 4000 people with wives, husbands, kids, and other loved ones, who they now are going to have to leave behind, in order to take part in an unjust and never-ending war.

They might feel like they are making a decision which keeps their family safe, but on the contrary, they contribute to conflicts which grow debt for the US, fuel anger and foster enemies overseas, and makes those at home less safe by contributing to the risk of blow-back.

# “For Our Freedoms”
We were lied to on numerous occasions when it came to rallying support in order to get the US public to support going to war in the Middle East. And now some fear that we might be being lied to again, in an effort to try and drum up support for a war with Iran or North Korea.

Warmongers are well aware that people generally aren't in favor of war, especially illegal wars of aggression, against a nation that has never attacked them. And so it's no surprise that they would attempt to use lies in order to rally support for their agenda.

Tens of thousands of troops have been sent to Afghanistan over the past 15 years in this ongoing battle that it seems will never reach its end. It's estimated that tens of thousands of innocent civilians in that region have died as a result; even more have been injured and hundreds of thousands have been displaced from their homes. Some in the US who are eager for unjust warfare will wave off these innocent deaths as unimportant “collateral damage,” but that isn't how the people see it who live in the region.

## These civilians saw foreign forces come in and kill roughly 3 innocent people every day for years, and that might fuel some resentment with folks.

# Trillions of dollars has been wasted on this conflict.
That is a lot of money that could've been used for something else. A lot of resources that could've went toward improving things in the world, rather than being wasting on bombing sovereign nations overseas.

There have been many injuries and deaths throughout this violent ordeal and maybe there wouldn't have had to have been so much innocent death, if more people would re-consider taking part in self-perpetuating, corrupt, unjust, and illegal conflicts. But after all, most are just "doing what they're told" right? *And look where that has gotten them, and us*.

Even for those who didn't lose their lives overseas, many come back from these conflicts and are never the same again. Thousands struggle with PTSD and many veterans even end up committing suicide. It clearly isn't within their best interest or that of their loved ones, to take part in something that has shown to do nothing but reap rotten results.

# No More War
What was achieved from the past 15 years of conflict, the trillions that has been spent, and the thousands of innocent lives lost? What was learned from the matter? To those keeping score, it might read as nothing more than a failure and a useless tragedy.

Many people have died in vain, and I am tired of seeing US officials ship soldiers off to fight their battles for them. To force people into taking part in furthering conflicts that make us less safe in many ways here at home. Perhaps suffering can be decreased in the future if officials were to consider any other sort of foreign policy than their current police the world model.
