It was just a matter of time until a crypto integrated card was issued in Romania too. Although we don't have any prominent exchange (and no measurable volume of trading because of that) cryptos are really hyped in Romania these days. It's very difficult to have conversations _without touching on the crypto currencies topic_.

From this point of view, the announce didn't come as a surprise, at least for me. So, Bitcoin Romania, which is probably the oldest Bitcoin exchange company in Ro (they installed the first Bitcoin ATMs in Ro) and Twispay, a payment processor company, partnered to offer a new tool, which will consist in a card, with which you could buy Bitcoin and Ethereum online, using Mastercard and Visa cards.

It's not yet clear how this will play out or if you could also sell cryptos for fiat with these cards, but the news is nevertheless very significant.

In Romania cryptos are unregulated, but recent comments from government officials hinted at potential efforts towards some regulatory measures.
