Different scenarios to take into consideration:

1) The correction is done and came as a vintage ZIGZAG (5,3,5) which would mean that we are in the first wave of an ongoing 5 wave impulse.
2) The correction will end up as an ABCDE in the form of a bull-flag, where E is still to come (lower low).

What would be ideal if you are in a long position?

Ideally you would want this wave one to exceed the upper resistance line to then have it as a support for wave 2 to sit on.

Is it necessarily going to be a bullflag if price does not breach the upper line?

No, there still is the possibility that a wave 3 could start after the wave 2 correction to then breach the line!

Now, I am not saying that this impulse is necessarily over, but there certainly is a reasonable probability that it is in fact done for now!
