If you’re looking for a unique travel experience that combines history. Culture and stunning scenery. **Malacañang of the North** should be on your bucket list. As someone from Sultan Kudarat, I was truly amazed by this place and I can’t wait to share my experience, and encourage you to visit too!

Malacañang of the North, also knows as Malacañang ti Amianan, is located in Paoay, Ilocos Norte. This two-story Spanish-style mansion was once the official residence of the late President Ferdinand Marcos and his family when they stayed in the region. Today. It has been converted into a museum open to the public, showcasing rooms filled with furniture personal memorabilia and historical displays from the Marcos era.

When I visited. I was welcomed by a beautiful façade and a refreshing view of Paoay Lake. The wide, open lawn and the mansion’s grand architecture made me feel like I was stepping into a piece of history. Inside, you can explore spacious rooms such as the grand living area, dining hall, and bedrooms, each one telling stories of the past. It felt like walking back in time, a ix of nostalgia and awe.

But that’s not all. After touring the mansion. I headed to the nearby view deck. This is a must-see spot, decorated with colorful flags that give off a lively vibe. From here, you get a panoramic view of the surrounding greenery. I also spotted and interesting cobra sculpture – perfect for a unique travel photo! The peaceful breeze, the sound of birds and the scenic view made this stop very relaxing and worth the trip.
