<br> The other day I was out with the lovely Mama Dreemit and we passed the Hector Falls...then turned around to drive by more slowly. <br>  <br> Though I've seen them hundreds of times in my life, I must never have been on that road after a full day of rain because holy wow, they were roaring! <br>  <br> This is what they normally look like, a cascade where the rock beneath is still visible. <br> https://youtu.be/xmC13p86Z8s <br> After seeing that I just had to head into Ithaca the following morning to see what was doing at my hangout, aka where I take breaks while doordashing, and holy mama! <br>  <br> Here you can see what it generally looks like. <br>  <br> Such a pretty path, so well maintained. <br>  <br> I wish I had photos leading all the way up to the falls to show you, as normally you can walk all the way to them. <br>  <br> <br>  <br> Not today, no sir! <br>  <br> <br>  <br> <br>  <br> Do you ever look at mother nature and think to yourself "that is death awaiting" ? <br>  <br> I often do that, particularly in winter, but also when faced with such things as flooding. <br>  <br> The difference between these next two pictures and what I was just looking at is astounding! <br>  <br> <br>  <br> And this is from just one twenty-four hour period of steady rain. <br> https://youtu.be/iEd4NyJqiA0 <br> If it were three days, what then? Hard to argue with that for this reason- walk out into the wilderness in your birthday suit, figure out how to make clothing, find food, build shelter with nothing but your own two hands.
