Instant vs. delayed gratification / Quitting the right things / What are your core positions?
Yoyoyo, Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. It has been slow on here the last few days, probably because many people were out having the time of their lives at Anarchapulco. I hope to make it next year. Its just a dream now, but its a goal to work towards.

I have always thought myself a master of self control. Last year I sold my car and had about $8,000 to spend on a car. I did some window shopping, some Craigslist shopping to see what I could get or what I could put a down payment on. My last car was nice, so nice that every little thing that broke cost $1,000. I had been watching crypto again for a while, and I decided I didn't need another fancy car. I went and spent $3,000 on a car that will last me for years. Then I went and spent the rest of that money on Bitcoin, and shortly thereafter on Steem and a few other coins. Now I drive my not so nice car around, while I have a social media account that at its peak was worth almost a Tesla Model 3. I have other coins that are doing well too. The delayed gratification has been well worth it. The delayed gratification of holding it will be even more worth it still! I still have my weak points when I rush for that instant gratification.

There is no greater example for me of that rush for instant satisfaction than cigarettes, it's my bane. I have seen the pictures of what happens to people who smoke. I have watched people lose the ones they loved because of lung cancer. I have felt the effects on my body and my cardio when I go play sports, or have to run long distances for any reason. Where the satisfaction of smoking a cigarette comes from, is hard to put a finger on really. It definitely exists. I pride myself on being logical. When I weigh the pros and cons of cigarettes and I still smoke them. I am not being logical. If I were to weigh the delayed satisfaction of not smoking. How could a logical person not want more money to spend on crypto, or better cardio, a longer life, or even the absence of the horrible smell. I need to choose to quit the right things.

Quitting is always good if it is killing negative trait or behavior. If you are quitting the right things. Smoking cigarettes didn't put me in the positive on any aspects of my life. It put me in the negative financially, health-wise, and probably even opportunity-wise. In one fell swoop I can remove that negative aspect of my life and turn it into at least 3 new positive starts. I can be more wealthy, healthy, and able. I have heard its not easy, I have heard its not like flipping a switch. I have been told I should take Chantix. I definitely won't take Chantix. My preferred method would be to initially try Ayahuasca but I cannot get to the right settings. I have never took the time to truly route out how to quit. I am going to quit though. Do I go cold turkey, ween myself off, become a vape god? We will see, though i have made up my mind, and when I make up my mind it usually happens quite rapidly.

What are your core positions?

I have been trying to move away from speculation in my crypto investments. There will always be a layer of speculation like there is even with Steem and SBD. Other coins only have speculation it seems. Those are the coins I am now trying to stay away from. I am pulling from those coins that are not useful yet and into the coins that have use, and therefore less speculation. The coins I have choose to keep most of my money in are Steem, Bitshares, Neo, EOS, Vechain, Bat, Smartcash, the main 3 (BTC, ETH, LTC), and the 3 coins in the interoperability alliance (Aion, Icon, and Wanchain). Do you like any of these coins? What coins did I miss that are in your core positions? I would like to add a couple more if they are more useful and less speculative!?
