This page attempts to pull off an effect that I'm not sure actually comes across well. In my mind, I wanted to further reinforce the concept that in our universe, only those who are infected with Rot can see Rot out in the world. An example of this is in issue 3 when our non-rot infected heroes encounter what they think is a ghost. Dorothy, who has the tainted blood, can see what is really going on.

You can see in panel 6 that Margaret doesn't see any of the black strings. on Page 27 here I try to further reinforce that by waiting until Chuck leaves the scene of the crime for us to see in panels 7 and 8 that Rot is at play here.
