Joke title. I think a vast majority of people who are not overridden with political insanity don't give one iota of a damn if someone calls it Covid-19, Coronavirus, Chinese Virus, Wuhan Virus, or Chu Man Flu. That doesn't stop the media from latching on to this completely absurd discussion and writing hundreds of words about it and continuing to ask questions during press conferences to the president. Of course all roads lead to racism and that is one of the things the media likes to accuse their political adversaries of the most!
https://i.imgflip.com/3tj4ly.jpg
I feel as though there is a lot more to it than just what that meme says above. I feel as though Trump was very aware of the fact that the media and loudmouths on Twitter were going to attack him for it and this was going to give him an opportunity to make them look stupid, which is what has happened. Almost no one cares about what you call this, but still there are tons of articles written about how it is going to encourage hate crimes or other such nonsense.
https://media.makeameme.org/created/for-my-next-8d0e2775cc.jpg
One of the dumbest articles about this is about a thousand words long and [I don't recommend anyone read it..](https://news.yahoo.com/whats-the-purpose-of-the-phrase-chinese-virus-182000816.html) your eyes might bleed from the dumbness. It's from Yahoo News 360 - which is an extremely liberal publication so I was actually surprised when Mike Bebernes actually took a neutral standpoint and presented both sides of the argument - I'm shocked and impressed Mike, but the fact that the article was written at all makes it dumb, even if you did actually have journalistic integrity and ethics. It goes on and on about various talking points about why this was ever uttered and some of the reasons are crazier than others such as "Trump and his allies are more comfortable in debates about rhetoric" .... They miss the mark when one of the possible perspectives isn't "Trump is trolling the press." That should have been option number 1. So I take my hat off to Mike Bebernes for actually writing something that resembles journalism, that is not normally what Yahoo News specializes in, but at the same time it might be important to choose a topic that actually matters.
