I might be one of the few people in the world that get excited when cryptocurrencies are in a downtrend. Don't get me wrong on this, I don't wish anyone to lose money especially their life savings. I just want to buy a whole lot more cryptos at a discount. Imagine if Bitcoin dropped down to triple digits again you could buy ten Bitcoins for the price of one at current rates.

Of course, if you had put your last funds in Bitcoin in the hopes of making a quick buck then you would be taking a huge loss which I don't advice you do. Bitcoin or any other alt-coin is not ideal for short-term investments because of their high volatility and borrowing loans for such an investment can ruin everything.

I use fresh excess funds to buy cryptos, these are funds I don't depend on and funds I can do without for a couple of months. Thus I don't panic when cryptos drop 50% in a week instead I'm happy and excited that I have a great opportunity to top-up. These downswings won't last long as cryptos become more and more mainstream instead they will become less volatile and stabilize. Having understood this I've learned to appreciate this volatility and the opportunities it provides.

In cryptos, it is vital that you position yourself correctly so that when the massive waves hit you're able to weather them and come out on top on the other end. The next time you find yourself panicking when there's a major downtrend ask yourself what's causing the panic. Is it because everyone else is panicking or that you hate losing or maybe it's because you put everything you had into the market? If it is the latter then I hope you take this one thing from this post which is to never invest funds you cannot afford to lose in the short. Just put a decent amount which would not cause you not to sleep if lost, greed is profitable but deadly.

Should you find yourself panicking because everyone else is panicking or you think you're losing money then you need to remember that this is an opportunity to buy the gold that people are dumping as if it were trash because you know its long-term value. Bitcoin, for instance, is much more valuable than it is today and buying it when it's $9k or $500 will still be hugely profitable in the long term.

Understand the value of your assets and use that as an anchor by which you cling to when things seem a bit shaky. Just by being involved in this market at this point in time makes you very fortunate to be a pioneer of this great technology. That's what cryptos are after all - a revolutionary technology that will shape and change the world as we know it. The show hasn't even started yet, we're still in the line waiting to buy our tickets, choose your seats wisely now while you can still afford them.

I think too many people in this space are focused on making money that they miss the whole point of this technology which is to emancipate the human race from economic or political restrictions etc.

Money or short-term profits are short-sighted and ignorant of the bigger picture, even though it might free you now it will only enslave you in the future. Why would you sell something valuable for a piece of paper when you can exchange that piece of paper for the keys to a greater technology?

That's just my two cents worth which I hope you gained something from and that you'd be kind enough to share it with others.

Thank you for reading. Have a Great Day!
