A New Year for dCity
Revitalization is a common theme, and its ironic because we all seem to have a memory of a superior past in our hearts and minds. Bring back the good old days, they say.

## Let's make dCity great again!

So our squeeze is coming along nicely, let's talk a little bit about what we are tracking, which is the SIM Power metric in the [dCity Stats Tab](https://dcity.io/stats/?type=sim_power&time=all_time). You can see here that we are down to a slope of just 26k SIM Power increase per day. If my calculations are correct, we should soon start heading negative.

Also, concurrently, we have seen a rise in the price of SIM. Interesting!

The SIM Power mechanism is net of all printing and SIM sink usage. This includes the War Tax Payouts, the card Income after taxes (if any), the SIM:SWAP.HIVE LP rewards, as well as the tax rebate totals. Right now this is right around 700k SIM being printed a day.

There are several sinks, including experimentation and student debt as well as the still underutilized Bag of SIM and their mechanics. But the most important sink will always be printing new cards.

[With the cool new Doppler Combine](https://peakd.com/dcity/@dcitygame/new-combined-items-and-priest-airdrop), I suddenly had a great idea, what about some combines for 3rd edition only? If the meta game tilts towards printing cards again, this deflationary episode could very interesting very quickly.

I suggested this in the dCity discord, SimClub-discussions channel. What do you guys think? Any other ideas?

The key will be to continue to balance the printing with the burning. If we start into a strong printing frenzy of 3rd edition cards, we might even be able to increase the SIM printing without increasing the SP. These levers all interact with each other.

For now we continue to be quite conservative with SIM printing. New players should [focus on citizen mining](https://peakd.com/hive-140217/@ecoinstant/get-started-with-dcity-beginners-guide) and build using tax rebates. This, coupled with student debt, is incidentally also the best way to reward most the active players and reward least the inactive players, regardless of size.

We are not technically at the minimum print, I have 1% War Tax, and I was happy to see, finally, we have gotten some additional War Tax Lobby. This is great, thank you for joining in! Also, right now Police Tax is off, which somewhat lowers printing, although by how much is hard to tell (I think its minimal). I will continue to turn it on and off every few days so cities can see its affect on their crime rate and their mitigation efforts.

The two levers I am most interested in here going forward: Sick Citizen Rebate and War Tax. I have already expressed how and why I view the War Tax Lobby as much superior to the actual War Tax lever, but it is technically much more limited (even if its maximum is the same).

I do support an increase in the Sick Citizen Rebate (to 2), this should continue to support and incentivize those who are undergoing experimentation, which is a nice SIM sink. Look for this increase a few days after we go into a negative slope (delta) SP.

I imagine in my head that we are going to be skillful central bankers and manage this way better than the Federal Reserve. Time will tell!

## ARMERO

One of the cities that will benefit from the increase in Sick Citizen rebate is @armero, a communal city project I run and anyone can participate in (Just send any number of Sick Citizen to @armero).

ARMERO token managed three 0.001 HIVE dividends in December, I think its on track to be only two in January but time will tell, we are getting HIVE from three sources and here is our current daily take:

Which seems to be tracking ~2 divs per month. We earn a small bit of HP each div payout from the post that gets created with our association with the Synergy Fund @ecoinstats.

The project will continue, we have started making bids on certain cards for ARMERO tokens, including casinos and research centers. Look for us on the market if you want to get involved.

## LABFUND and @superlab

We are in a consolidation phase with the LABFUND project, maybe in 2 weeks or a month I will make a post about closing this phase, for now it seems appropriate during the SIM squeeze to continue to consolidate forces, already we have bought back over 20% of the fund, so those who still hold LABFUND have an even bigger share in the city and its assets.

Our city is very healthy and continues to play at the top of the game:

## Hold on, we are going to make it

I remain excited about the future of dCity. I am behind in almost everything else, but as your elected official, I am making sure to put this as a priority.

Share [the beginner guide](https://peakd.com/hive-140217/@ecoinstant/get-started-with-dcity-beginners-guide) with your friends and Splinterlands players. Let's continue citizen mining for good APRs during this bear market - and also enjoying a robust NFT market with many possibilities for interaction.

I also have an open discussion about several things in the #dcity-politics channel, come and provide some feedback to me in 1 of 4 topics:

SIM looks primed to possibly pierce 0.0004 price again, which would trigger a 1% reduction in the INCOME TAX. Keep an eye out for that over the next few days.

In Solidarity!
