So that we may receive what we ask for, let us pray in faith without any doubt, that God can do what we ask of Him. 
Asking God for a favor to do something which we cannot do is the meaning of prayer in the Bible. Philippians 4:6;

"Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."

Have no anxiety about anything, in our lives on earth, there are so many reasons for anxieties, worries, problems, but we must not be troubled by any of them. The only solution is ; in everything is by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God; to pray to God is to make your request known to Him. In so many ways you can pray for any situation you are in.
Prayer means making our request to be known unto God and you will be favoured if you have faith in Him. You must have faith while praying because you cannot please God without faith. Hebrews 11:6;

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.”

To please God and make your prayers known unto him, you must ask in faith. James 1:6–7;

6:"But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea, driven with the wind and tossed."

7:"For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord"

So that we may receive from God what we are asking for, we must ask in faith without doubts, without entertaining any negative thinking.
