Don't You think our Branding is Boring? Let Us Do Something About It!
First of all, check https://hive.io ... Simple and clean website, tells something about HIVE, but its soooo plain and uninspiring. Now check https://www.netflix.com/ .... You see this difference?

Some users created some cool HIVE images, but where are they on hive.io? Sure, a branding package is available for those who like to use some HIVE logos, but also these are quite boring. They serve its purpose, I don't deny that.

But wouldn't it be cool to add some animated gif, or even short video versions of HIVE branding to the package? We are living in a digital world where video is possible by default; I don't think too many people will use the HIVE branding package to create something offline, on paper.

And wouldn't be even more cool when we can give a real professional, quality and catchy look and feel to our landing pages: hive.io hive.blog and even peakd.com and other user interfaces?

You could say: "That doesn't add anything to our service and you are right!" But we like to attract users, therefore marketing is super important. We like to address the mass, and the mass is moved with cool visuals and sounds and music.

If its up to me, the look and feel should be minimalistic, clean with a massive impact! This will be a combination between visuals and music. I'm thinking cinematographic style. That said, I've seen great commercials over the last so many decades that was not about minimalism :)

Take Netflix approach for instance. Their promo video played in cinemas is just 4 seconds...

<center><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/GV3HUDMQ-F8" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></center>

To me, this makes an impact and would drive me to want to know more about Netflix.

Yesterday I saw on television a variant of this one, which I also like very much. Unfortunately, I was not able to find this one online at YouTube or at Netflix own website. What I can tell you, it was more minimalistic than the cinema version, the coloured lines wasn't in the television one. Just the H in red on black background, with some animation and ending with NETFLIX. **Impressive!**

Also yesterday (just coincidence I think), I was pointed to the newest Hans Zimmer version of the Netflix promo for cinemas. 16 seconds. Similar visuals, but extended; And some great music. Music that makes an impact for sure. It did with me at least. Below the results, released a few days ago; Couldn't find the original, so please try and see through the low resolution recording (both visuals and audio)...

I don't think we have Hans Zimmer on HIVE and it may be a little difficult to get him to join, or get him to help us out with the music part. Likely, we also don't have the creative agency at HIVE used by Netflix to come up with the visuals. But we DO have a lot of creative people in our community, from visual artists to music composers and producers. Some of them are even into this type of visuals and music!

Why don't we reach out to those who has cool skills to create something like the Netflix promo videos I shared in this post? And why don't we invest our time in finding people in our community who will take on the task to update hive.io and maybe even hive.blog landing page to make it more appealing?

> **Note**: I'm not a creative myself, and I don't want to push the idea of a Netflix look alike promo videos for HIVE at all. It just what I like. I think we need to create a team of people who take this from A to Z, including creative artists (visual and audio), maybe a copywriter, and definitely a producer. It would be great if we can adopt a professional approach, ie creation of several concepts though storyboards and get feedback from the community or a selected group of people to determine the best concept before all the work is put into creating the promotion material.

I'll do my best to reach out to those who make music, since I'm seeing their work on a daily bases while curating the music corner in our community. At the same time, I'll be sending some private messages to those who have a large and active follow base on HIVE, and I'll also include those with a lot of stake in HIVE. Any progress on that front, I'll be posting about in the comment section below.

> **Meeting place**: for the purpose of not making things too complicated, I opened a section in my own QSOUNDS Discord server for those who are interested (invitation link: https://discord.gg/KxyHgyf); Drop a message in the 'hive-promo' channel. Later we can move the project over to its own Discord server or migrate to the HIVE developers Discord, or whatever we feel is the best place to collaborate. You can also DM me (my username at Discord: edje/edje42/qsounds#3711).

ps

In my personal network - some are even close friends - I have several great professional music producers. I never talked with them if they are willing to help out with their skills. I can imagine they don't want to do this free of charge, while I don't think they will come to HIVE to try and earn something through posting. But when we can get the backing of some of the high stakeholders in our community to approve a HIVE proposal to get these people paid for their work, I'm more than willing to reach out to them and try and persuade them (or one of them) to participate.

One of these guys is Steve Rachmad... His work you can listen to in video below. One hour set recording of tracks all produced by him. The opening gives a feeling what he can do in kinda cinematographic style. This guy is uber musical! Next to being uber musical, he is one of the most respected producers in its genre, he is a very friendly guy, but also very busy... That said, I'm more than happy to check with him.

Another guy in my close circles is Wouter de Moor: He produces house, deep house and techno. Don't know if he ever tried something more cinematographic, but I'm pretty sure he can do something on that front. One of his most recent productions below; Under his artist name "MOOR".

<center><iframe width="100%" height="300" scrolling="no" frameborder="no" allow="autoplay" src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=https%3A//api.soundcloud.com/tracks/748742242&color=%23ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true&visual=true"></iframe><div style="font-size: 10px; color: #cccccc;line-break: anywhere;word-break: normal;overflow: hidden;white-space: nowrap;text-overflow: ellipsis; font-family: Interstate,Lucida Grande,Lucida Sans Unicode,Lucida Sans,Garuda,Verdana,Tahoma,sans-serif;font-weight: 100;"><a href="https://soundcloud.com/latenightburners" title="Late Night Burners" target="_blank" style="color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;">Late Night Burners</a> · <a href="https://soundcloud.com/latenightburners/b2-moor-moody-b-lnbxxx01" title="B2. MOOR - Moody B [LNBXXX01]" target="_blank" style="color: #cccccc; text-decoration: none;">B2. MOOR - Moody B [LNBXXX01]</a></div></center>

That said, I think we shall try to work with HIVE community members first to see what we can create ourselves.

**Lets try and revamp our frontends, starting with a cool short video of the HIVE brand. Followed by creating a cool hive.io website and landing pages to hive.blog peakd.com and other important user interfaces.**
