Lagos state known as Eko or Lasgidi is one of the smallest,porpulated, and beaitiful state  in the fedral republic of Nigeria.

BRIEF HISTORY OF LAGOS

Before the Portuguese name  Lagos was adopted, Lagos was initialy known as (Eko) which referred mainly to the Island. 
The first tribe to settle in Eko were the Aworis. The Awori hunters and fishermen had originally come from Ile-Ife to the coast. The name Eko either came from the Yoruba Oko (cassava farm) or Eko(war camp). About 650 years ago, the King of Bini sent warriors to Eko who were received in a welcoming manner by the residing Awori fishermen. The Bini Prince, Ado, who led the war party, was asked to become their leader. That was how Eko belonged to the  yorubas.

Lagos state was found 27 may 1967, and now have a population of over 16million people which made it d second most populated state in nigeria.

Lagos is an island so its sorrounded by water and have many beaches where wonderful parties are always held.

Lagos is a youruba speaking state in Nigeria located in the western part of the country

Lagos State is arguably the most economically important state in the country, containing Lagos is the nation's largest urban area, It is a major financial centre and would be the fifth largest economy in Africa, if it were a country.

CITIES IN LAGOS
Lagos have wonderful cities such as Ikeja which is the capital of lagos

Lekki:Lekki is a city, which is located to the south east of the state. Lekki is a naturally formed peninsula, which is still under construction

Ikorodu: Ikorodu is one of the city in lagos state located in the north east of the state along the Lagos Lagoon, it shares a common boundary with Ogun State.

Eko atlantic:Eko Atlantic city is being constructed on lands reclaimed from part of the Atlantic Ocean. Eko atlantic is located on former Lagos’ Bar Beach. The new island which is still under development is expected to accomodate at least 250,000 residents and a daily flow of at least 150,000 commuters. This wonderful development will also have a positive environmental impact to stop erosion in lagos. 

Epe:Epe is a town located on the north part of the Lekki Lagoon. Epe is popular for their fishing activities.
