This is the caterpillar of [Doleschallia bisaltide, the autumn leaf, which is a nymphalid butterfly found in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Australasia. In Australia it is also known as the leafwing.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doleschallia_bisaltide#cite_note-Smetacek-1) or Balinese usually called them *Geeng Temen* There is a saying in Balinese which is **Serem-Serem Geeng Temen** which means someone who looks scary or sounds tough but actually a coward since it has no venom to make someone itchy. Because this caterpillar looks scary with its hair and its bright color, which instantly sends a signal for us to stay away from it.
