<div class="text-justify"> ## *Hello Farming and Garden Lovers...* *Lately, the price of chilies has skyrocketed. This is according to several market sites and my experience. The price of chilies has skyrocketed because of frequent rainy weather and high market demand at the end of the year. If you look at the price, maybe this is the right time for me because I started planting chilies a few months ago. However, right now I don't want to talk about that because it's just a matter of luck. Here I want to share my first experience of planting chilies. I am indeed a beginner in this field, but I should be proud because I can take advantage of land that has been empty without plants.* *Initially, I was excited about working on this project when a simple post from @erikah >>> [here](https://ecency.com/hive-140635/@erikah/african-violet-parade-and-gardening) started a discussion about how to grow the most effective one. When it comes to planting anything, it really starts with strong beliefs and commitment. It is difficult indeed if you have to maintain a commitment such as a commitment to provide regular postings.* *Well, basically anyone can plant chilies either in polybags, pots, or in the yard. The difficult thing is caring for chilies, but it's not wrong to try, right?* **The first thing you should do is prepare the seeds** *Preparing the right seeds should be the first step. Some of the seeds from the big and spicy chilies I selected are here. As we already know, the best chili seeds can only be obtained from quality chili seeds. In one photo here, the chili seeds have been dried in the sun, and they are completely dry now. They have been placed in a plastic container for some time. If it's instant, of course, you can, you just have to buy it at the market, but preparing your own chili seeds is of course cost-effective. Another advantage is that you can really make sure the seeds come from the chilies of your choice.* **The second thing is sowing the seeds** *Seeds are sown in almost the same manner as most mass planting techniques. I sowed the seeds using the sowing method. This is because my seeding area is very narrow. If I use a poly bag, of course, it will take up a lot of space.* *Here, I have leveled the soil along with the manure, and then I cover the soil and manure first and let it sit for 2-3 days. By the way, I have already soaked the seeds I prepared here in warm water. After making sure that there were no double seeds, I then sowed the seeds and covered them with a soil cover with a thickness of only 1 cm.* *From the photo you can see, you will see that the seed I sowed earlier had germinated. It was about the size of one of our index fingers. I slowly started to open the top cover to allow in sunlight.* **The third stage is preparing the land.** *While waiting for the chili seeds to be completely ready to be planted, I started preparing the land to be used for farming. Make sure the land you choose has fertile, organic, and nutrient-rich soil. You can also loosen the soil by using fertilizer. Also, make sure there is enough sunlight. Heavy equipment was even necessary to disassemble this soil so that the nutritional part of it could be mixed.* *Since this land covers an area of approximately 400 meters, I started creating small mountains as planting fields to ensure that the soil is really ready for planting later. I estimate there will be around 500 chilies that will thrive here. And to maintain the fertility of this soil, I mixed it with compost beforehand.* **The fourth is planting in real**. *When the land had been ready for planting for four weeks, I carefully planted chili seeds. I don't want to cut or damage the roots as it will interfere with their growth. The distance I took for our meeting was only 30 centimeters. In theory, it is actually very susceptible to pests. But this time I'm sure I can keep the pests away from the chilies.* **Don't forget to provide natural fertilizer, if necessary use liquid fertilizer** *Even though at the time of processing the land the first natural fertilizer was given, chilies are a susceptible plant so providing further fertilizer is a must. Fertilizer plays an instrumental role in plant growth so you have to use it correctly and you will get your plants to be thick and healthy. After the first fertilization, allow the distance to be about one month. After every harvest, apply additional fertilizer.* *Here I use organic fertilizer or compost to make my chilies more organic, healthy, and natural. However, during a pest attack some time ago, I saw that this chili was a bit slow to grow. This made me a bit frustrated so I decided to use diluted liquid fertilizer in the appropriate ratio.* **We have arrived at the most boring stage, namely the chili treatment stage** *Chili must be sprayed with chili every day. I'm taking advantage of the rainy weather at this time so I don't water too often. However, I don't wet the chilies too much because this puts the chilies at risk of dying because their roots are weathered and rotten by water immersion. Apart from watering, ensure that there are no other plants such as grass that grow to interfere with the chili plants. If you find grass, clean it immediately.* *Well, here I also want to make the chilies strong, so I deliberately knock down the leaves below. This is a new technique that I learned from my younger brother who had previously practiced it. This chili looks taller and stronger when the leaves at the bottom are not there.* **Its happy times come when harvesting chilies** *These are the times that farmers have been waiting for.* ***"You plant, so you reap"***. *This saying is true. When planting crops, the harvest is something to look forward to. But to pick, you have to be careful. Pay attention to the following method. First, you should choose a time to collect chilies in the morning. When you pick a chili, it must have a stem. Pick the chilies that have turned red first, making sure they are slender and firm. The spiciness of chilies is generally a chili that is slender and dense.* *Chilies can usually reach 24 months old, which means you have plenty of time to harvest chilies. However, the older the chilies, the lower the productivity. So giving fertilizer regularly will provide a longer period, and productivity will not drop drastically.* *Well, this is my first time planting and harvesting chilies. I know so many human errors here in planting chili. Indeed, with patience and commitment, we will gain valuable experience. Thank you Chili.* ***Thank you for stopping by my blog, I hope for some corrections from you for being good content makers in the future, please feel free to comment below.
