"Maybe there's a topical version...some sort of cream?"

"No."

"A suppository?"

"Ms. Allen, it's an **injection**. I've been doing this for 40 years, you'll survive."

It truly wasn't that bad and he was kind enough to give her a lollipop for her troubles.

I've always wondered how intravenous drug users get comfortable injecting their drug of choice. Needles hurt. But maybe with lots of practice they get really good at it. I once had a nurse draw my blood so painlessly I barely had time to register what she was doing before she was done so I guess it might be like that.
