A common grass snake ๐ I was outdoors and saw a grass snake among the rocks. It was lying on a rock. I was a little scared when I saw it. But then I got a little familiar with the surroundings and went closer to take a photo of the grass snake. I managed to take several photos. It's such a beautiful, beautiful color. It was basking in the sun while lying on the rock. Then I picked up a branch and touched it, and it crawled away into the rocks. It's a non-venomous species. We have a lot of them here, but I don't see it often. They're more often found near bodies of water, usually among rocks. They like to hide in the rocks. They also like to bask in the sun. When it's finished feeding, it lies down on the rock and stays there. It's the most common non-venomous snake here. It has brightly colored markings on its head. They come in different varieties. Some have yellow ears, orange, and red. It has an oval head. It has round pupils. Their round pupils distinguish them from venomous snakes. They are usually gray or brown, with dark spots along their backs. Grass snakes are not aggressive and pose no threat. They often slither away when they sense danger. They hunt near bodies of water. Fish is their most common diet.
