Good day dear Hive community, first of all I hope that you are all well and that you had a great weekend which was full of positive experiences! In my new post, I would like to talk about the symbolism and mythology of a plant that many probably know. Pictures of raspberries can be seen here and the scientific name is Rubus idaeus. The genus was first published in 1753 by the well-known botanist Carl Linnaeus and the Roman author Pliny the Elder already mentioned it in one of his works. Symbolically, the raspberry is associated with the planet Jupiter as well as the zodiac sign Virgo and is also often seen as a sign of love, strength and healing. From a spiritual point of view, raspberries are often associated with wisdom, creativity and inspiration. In Greek Mythology there is a legend that is associated with the color and says that the fruits were white in the origin and were dyed red by the nymph Ida, who was known as the daughter of the king of Crete. According to the legend, Zeus commissioned Ida to collect raspberries and while she picked the berries, she stabbed herself on the thorns and her blood colored the berries red. Raspberries were also already known in Norse mythology and were often associated with fertility and it can also be found in hindu mythology. Also as a medicinal plant, its use goes back several thousand years and was already very popular with the Romans, Greeks and the Middle Ages. Raspberries are particularly known for strengthening the immune system and can help well against viruses and bacteria due to the high content of vitamin C and it can also be beneficial for wound healing and anti-aging purposes. As always, you should ask your doctor about the correct use, dosage and possible side effects! Thanks for stopping by and watching and I hope you like my post! I captured the pictures with my Sony Alpha 6000 and 55-210mm lens!
